Deposits: Table Bookings
A deposit will be required during peak times, event days and for larger parties. This will not be refundable, but it will be fully redeemable on the day of your booking. If you need to cancel your booking, we will need 48 hours notice in order to issue a full refund on your deposit.
Failure to cancel within 48 hours of your booking will result in a forfeit of your deposit. If you have purchased a package to secure the area and fail to cancel within 48 hours of your booking, your deposit will be deducted as a cancellation fee.
Please be aware that if you choose not to use your deposit at the bar on the day, this will not be refunded to you as it is a minimum spend for the area.
Please be aware that our booking terms and cancellation policy varies depending on the type of booking. For example, our Private Hire areas have specific cancellation terms. Please see the dropdown options below for specific booking types.
Grace Period
Bookings with a Deposit
Please arrive on time for your booking, as we will only be able to hold the area for 30 minutes. Failure to arrive within this time will result in us offering the area to another party and a forfeit of your deposit.
Bookings without a Deposit
For parties that have not paid a deposit, we will hold the table for 15 minutes before we offer it to another party.
Cocktail Masterclasses
Our Cocktail Masterclass runs for 90 minutes. Please note your booking period will not be extended for late arrivals.
Challenge 25: Bring your ID!
I’m sure you’re already aware, but as much as we would love to have everyone join the party, we are unable to allow under 18’s into the venue. We run a Challenge 25 policy here at Retro, so if anyone in your party is lucky enough to look under the age of 25, please inform them to bring a valid ID on the night. Failure to do so could result in them being unable to enter the venue on the day of your booking, and we definitely don’t want that to happen! If this were to happen on the day and the rest of the party decide not to stay, this will result in a forfeit of your deposit.
Responsible Drinking
Retro promotes safe and responsible drinking. Always know your limit. We will not serve or allow entry to anyone who appears intoxicated, and you will be asked to leave the premises if you are intoxicated.
Dress Code
Dress to impress. No Sportswear, caps or sports trainers.
Lost Property Policy
Scope
This policy covers any personal property found or handed in at Retro Lounge LTD. and its associated bars (“the Venue”). It applies to all guests, visitors, staff, and contractors.
How to report a lost item
If you believe you have lost something at the Venue, you must complete our online Lost Property Form, available at: https://www.retrocardiff.co.uk/lost-property
Please provide as much detail as possible so we can check whether your item has been found.
What we’ll do

All found items are stored securely.

If we receive a lost property form that matches an item we hold, we will contact you with instructions on how to collect it.

We will only release items to someone who can demonstrate ownership, which may include verifying identifying features of the item and presenting valid photo ID. High-value items may require additional proof.

We will not release items to a third party without written authorisation and identification.
Retention period & disposal

We will retain uncollected items for 60 days from the date the item was found.

After 60 days, items will be donated, recycled, or otherwise disposed of at our discretion.

Certain items requiring special handling (e.g., passports, bank cards, or prohibited items) may be handed to the relevant authority sooner.
Liability

While we take reasonable care of found items, the Venue cannot accept liability for lost or damaged property.

We are not responsible for loss or theft of items before they are handed to us.

This does not affect your statutory rights.
Security & data protection

Information collected via the Lost Property Form (name, contact details, item description) will be used solely to help reunite items with their owners and will be retained only as long as necessary in line with data-protection requirements.
Right to amend

The Venue reserves the right to amend this policy. The most up-to-date version will always be available on our website.
Middle Bar: Deposits and Private Hire
To book our Middle Bar, a minimum of 30 people must be attending in order to have the bar and bartender to yourselves.
A minimum spend will be required during peak times, event days and for larger parties to book the area. This will not be refundable, but it will be fully redeemable on the day of your booking.
A deposit will be required to secure the area with the remaining balance to be paid 7 days before your booking. If you need to cancel your booking, we will need 7 days notice in order to issue a full refund on your deposit.
Failure to cancel within 7 days of your booking will result in a forfeit of your deposit. If you have purchased a package to secure the area and fail to cancel within 7 days of your booking, your deposit will be deducted as a cancellation fee.
Please be aware that if you choose not to use your pre-payment at the bar on the day, this will not be refunded to you as it is a minimum spend for the area.
Window Seats: Deposits & Area Hire
To book our Window Seat area, a minimum of 25 people must be attending.
A minimum spend will be required during peak times, event days and for larger parties to book the area. This will not be refundable, but it will be fully redeemable on the day of your booking.

With our Cocktail Masterclasses you can enjoy:
- A welcome glass of Prosecco on arrival
- 90 minutes of learning how to make 3 selected Cocktails.
- A celebratory selected shot after you have finished your Masterclass.
Our Cocktail Masterclass runs for 90 minutes. Please note your booking period will not be extended for late arrivals.

A deposit of £5 per person will be required to secure your booking. This will not be refundable, but it will be fully redeemable against your Masterclass Package.
We will require full Payment 3 days before the date of your booking.
